Choke valves & One-way flow controls

One-way control valves (one direction throttled, the other free) are used to adjust the speed of pneumatic cylinders, choke valves on the other hand to adjust the air or fluid flow. For speed control of most double acting cylinders the exhaust air is throttled with a flow control silencer to regulate the exhaust air. The supply air is not impacted by the exhaust air flow control valve. This effectively prevents the unattractive slip-stick effect. Supply air flow control throttle check valves are normally used with single acting cylinders or cylinders with only very low piston displacement.Tip: Screw the throttle check valve directly into the cylinder to minimise dead volumes.
